Meeting Times:
10:00a-11:00a EST - 3rd Wednesday of Every Month
The Low-Carbon Materials Working Group is dedicated to educating all stakeholders about the embodied carbon impacts of building materials and how these impacts can be reduced. We also advocate for voluntary and regulatory actions to reduce these impacts. We welcome participation from all interested stakeholders.
In 2024 our group worked with the Jampart Foundation to identify regional roadblocks to low-carbon concrete. The report is now available to download on the right side of this page. We also developed Buy Clean Recommendations for concrete to state policy-makers.
In 2026 we plan to work on state and local policy recommendations and education related to materials and to host guest speakers to keep us updated on the latest developments in low-carbon materials. In particular, we plan on addressing the recommendations by the state Embodied Carbon Intergovernmental Coordinating Council.
