Cast-in-place concrete contributes more to climate change than any other building material. The Concrete Working Group is dedicated to educating all stakeholders about concrete’s embodied carbon impacts and how these impacts can be reduced. We also advocate for voluntary and regulatory actions to reduce these impacts. We welcome participation from all interested stakeholders.

The Concrete Working Group of the CLF Boston/New England hub is an active working group of volunteers focused on educating on and advocating for the use of lower embodied carbon concrete on building projects in the region.

As of January 2024 our latest updates are:

  • We are working with the Jampart Foundation to identify regional roadblocks to low-carbon concrete. The report is now available! Download it here or find the button on the right side of this page.

  • Providing Buy Clean recommendations for concrete to state policy-makers.
